The Sports Note, my real project, got a major boost the other day when Deadspin.com hooked us up with a link for the Matthew LeCroy column. I’m not exactly sure what the real world media equal is but basically getting mentioned by Deadspin is like being cited by Post or Times, but not really. Basically Deadspin is one of the biggest sports blogs on the internet, so its cool to get mentioned.

I’m actualy a pretty big fan of James Blunt; his entire CD is pretty awesome. Having said that, I can understand the feelings of the listeners of a British radio station that has banned Blunt from the airwaves. Apparently the station was getting calls from listeners who were sick and tired of hearing Blunt’s “You’re Beautiful” over and over again. I love that song, or actually I should say I loved that song. That stopped when I made it my ringtone on my phone and I kept hearing it over and over myself, on top of the times it was on the radio, which seemed like every five minutes. This perhaps speaks of the perils involved with oversaturation; obviously Blunt wants his song played as much as possible but I doubt he wants to reach the level of people actually getting sick of him.
If anyone's thinking of buying me a gift in the near future (and I'm not really sure why you would be), consider this shirt to be at the top of my wishlist. In other Colbert news, apparently former Majority Leader Tom Delay is unaware that the host of the Colbert Report is actually play-acting in his role as a conservative. Delay's legal team (and I imagine they are racking up the bills with a client like Delay) included Colbert's defense of Delay in a press release. They actually think Colbert was being serious. That can't be a good sign for Delay's legal troubles. In related news, Bill O'Reilly rips the younger generation for getting their news from the Daily Show which is why 18-24 year olds "no nothing". Oh Billy Billy Billy. Your audience, studies have repeatedly shown, know less about domestic, international and general news then average news watchers. In short, Mr. O'Reilly, you are an idiot.
