New year, new look

I've had the same haircut since approximately freshman year of high school and its time for a change. On the one hand I could say "hey, look how far you've gone with your current cut" on the other hand I could say "Hey. Look how far you've gone with your current cut" (it's really a tossup between whether or not my hair has held me back from further success. I'd like to think it's played a small role, if any, in my success).

I've had my hair at varying lengths at times but for almost ten years it's been the same. Twice I shaved my head (once for high school soccer hazing and the other time on an ill-fated whim in college). Before my current "hairstyle" (you can't really call it a style since I put no thought in to it, can you?) I had the classic extreme side part look going that makes me cringe every time I see myself in pictures from that era. Before that (OK, OK, I did have an ill-advised rat tail for a period of time but those pictures/memories have been repressed) I had a pseudo-bowl cut that was, for the most part, homemade by my mom which led to many conversations that when something like this:

"Why are you tilting your head like that?"

"I'm not, my mom cut my hair again."

With the new year upon us I've decided to give myself a new look. I'm ditching my old standby, Hair Cuttery, and going for a trendy place called "Bang Salon" which is right near where I live. I plan on putting myself in the capable hands of the gayest haircutter I can find and letting them go to town on my lovely locks. My requirements for my hairstyle are as follows:

1) Must be low to no maintenance. I don't own a comb or brush and I don't plan on buying/using one at any point. I also don't own or use any "product" and again, don't plan on doing so in the future.

2) My head is deceptively huge by which I mean I have a quite large head but no one really points this out (at least not to my face). My old/current haircut may have shielded the actual size of my head and I'd like my new one to maintain this illusion.

Other then that I'm just hoping I don't end up looking stupid. Chances are astronomical that I'll be very upset by the outcome though and just end up shaving my head.
