No where to go

Former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton might face a citizen’s arrest when he speaks at a book fair in Wales today:

Mr Monbiot, a columnist for The Guardian newspaper, plans to detain him as he steps off stage at the end of his talk. He said he was prepared to jump on stage and perform the citizen’s arrest there if necessary.

He claimed Mr Bolton was “instrumental in preparing and initiating the Iraq war by disseminating false claims through the State Department” while he was under-secretary of state for arms control.

Sounds good to me. I am unfamiliar with the specific rules regarding citizen’s arrests (not to mention in a foreign country); but I imagine there is something that is stopping various activists from trying to citizen’s arrest Rumsfeld every time he speaks in the U.S. It is somewhat comforting though, the prospect that all these former Bush Administration people would be scared away from traveling abroad for fear of arrest. Serves them right.
