NY Times article on the struggles of Google News. Despite basically giving my entire online presence to Google, I never look at Google News (though maybe I should) unless its to do a search.

  1. I skim Google News headlines several times a day. I don’t have cable, and even if I did I can’t stand cable “news”. Skimming the headlines allows me to get a general sense of what the news topics are that day. 99% of the time I don’t even click on an article. Election coverage is all who said what zinger that day, and everything else is either pretty white girls in trouble, or fellating Steve Jobs. But at least I have a vague sense of what the media thinks is news that day.
