Yeah that didn’t work out
Foreign Policy is out with their 2008 Top Ten list of worst 2008 predictions (via). Everyone’s highlighting the #1 worst prediction, genius Bill Kristol saying this:
“If [Hillary Clinton] gets a race against John Edwards and Barack Obama, she’s going to be the nominee. Gore is the only threat to her, then. … Barack Obama is not going to beat Hillary Clinton in a single Democratic primary. I’ll predict that right now.”
Yeah not quite there Billy boy. My personal favorite though is this prediction/statement by Don Luskin on Sept. 18, 2008:
“[A]nyone who says we’re in a recession, or heading into one—especially the worst one since the Great Depression—is making up his own private definition of ‘recession.’”
Of course it was recently in the news that we’ve officially been in a recession since December…of 2007. It should be noted that Luskin is a leading conservative economist and was an advisor to the McCain campaign. I’m betting that Kristol makes this list again next year by the way.
