Funny people say funny things

The NY Times has a profile of Amy Poehler (via) in anticipation of her new show Parks and Recreation. You don’t really get a sense of how the show is going to be but the profile has some good lines in it:

Amy Poehler on the show: “I think we’ll be the first TV show to win an Academy Award. And the Nobel Peace Prize.”

Aziz Ansari on what the creators told him: “They were like, ‘It’s either going to be a spinoff of ‘The Office’ or a totally separate thing,’. It could have been like, ‘Yeah, so it’s about you and Vin Diesel running a day care center together, and then at night you’re vigilantes, and you fight crime.’”

Tina Fey on the advice she gave Poehler: “Trust no one. Yell at everyone. Insist on being driven to work in a party trolley.”
