Bob Woodward Only Post Reporter Not Covering White House Crashers

Dave Weigel points out that the Post’s big in-depth look at the couple who crashed the state dinner at the White House the other night seems to have involved a lot of Post staffers. The articles byline is Neely Tucker and Amy Argetsinger and at the bottom of piece there’s this:
Staff writers Cindy Boren, [...]

Yes Mark Halperin Is A Blabbering Idiot

This opening paragraph from Jason Linkins on Mark Halperin is delightful:
As many of you know, Mark Halperin is this babbling idiot whom Time magazine hired to cobble together this insipid web product called “The Page,” which is designed to scam people looking for trenchant, up-to-the-minute political news into giving Time many, many unnecessary ad impressions [...]

Lou Dobbs Deported

Lou Dobbs resigned from CNN yesterday and won’t be missed. For me it wasn’t just his racism, birtherism or stupidity but also his shockingly large and blindingly white teeth. The man had some chompers, I’ll give him that. But sadly The Onion reports some shocking news:

First story:

Second story, maybe even more important [...]

Jason Linkins interviews Dale Maharidge

Huffington Posts’ Jason Linkins does a great interview with Pulitzer-Prize-winning author and Columbia School of Journalism professor Dale Maharidge. I’m embarrassed to say I’d never heard of Maharidge before but he says a lot of smart things about journalism and covering economic issues that make me want to hear more from him.

Why does anyone listen to these people?

CNBC has been the topic of much discussion of late and I keep asking myself the same question: Why does anyone listen to these people? They people have been wrong, so many times (there’s about a million examples on YouTube, here’s one), for so long, yet they are still viewed as “experts”, who’s opinions should [...]

Alan Colmes is leaving Hannity & Colmes at the end of the year. Hannity’s probably going to host the show by himself now. Not sure that will change the show much.

Here’s how Slate employee’s will be voting: Obama (55), McCain (1), Barr (1), Not McCain (1), and Non citizen, can’t vote (4). Rachael Larimore, Deputy Managing Editor and Copy Chief, is the McCain voter and Jack Shafer, Editor at Large and media columnist, is voting for Bob Barr.
