The banana

Given my own issues with the banana I thought this was quite funny. From CrunchFoods (a satire of a Michael Arrington blog):

Fruits are nothing new. Over the last few years, countless varieties have been launched… strawberries, blueberries, oranges, cantaloupe, grapes—I could go on. But all of these fruits have been very Food 1.0, requiring washing, peeling, cutting, and other helper applications. I like fruit on my cereal, but, wow, does it have to be so difficult?

Well, my sources just moments ago filled me on a new fruit, the banana, that has all the killer features other fruits have been lacking, and which I’ve been calling for for some time now.

Bananas require no special gizmos to get down to business. Just peel back the conveniently hard nub at the top and get instant access to the tasty fruit inside.

This might get very popular very fast.

Can’t. Stop. Playing.

Desktop Tower Defense. Have you heard of it? If you value your job or being productive you might want to stop reading this right now. I was turned on to DTD from the usual source, Jason Kottke. And like Jason, I can’t stop playing it. It is highly, highly addictive and its all I’ve done today really, playing it over and over. Via Michael Arrington over at TechCrunch (also an addict by the way) here’s a little video someone put together of their method.

By the by, if you give this game a shot (don’t say I didn’t warn you though) and would like to compare scores feel free to add yours to the little group I’ve put together, cleverly titled “jdiddys crew what what”. Current high score, on the medium setting, is 3258. Try and beat that son.
