Jersey Shore Is Coming Back For A Second Season

For better or worse there’s going to be a second season of the Jersey Shore. The cast and MTV have come to terms on a new contract that will pay them $10,000 an episode. No chance the second season is as good as the first right?

That would be quite the tourist attraction

Troy Patterson, in his review of tonight’s The City finale, describes what New York’s Meatpacking District could have been:
Meanwhile, New Yorkers can admire the interstitial shots of elegant fire escapes and underappreciated bridges and also receive final confirmation that the noxiously gentrified Meatpacking District, where Whitney works and plays, would have been better off ceded [...]

MTV gives College Humor their own show

Via Ricky Van Veen it seems the College Humor crew is moving up in the world:
MTV is developing a slate of eight new “aspirational, enterprising and empowering” series for 2009 as part of a push to ramp up the network’s original programing.
Among them are spin-offs of “Run’s House” and “Rob & Big”; a show [...]

The Hills people are getting that chedda

The salaries for the cast of The Hills has leaked. Without further ado:

Lauren Conrad: $75,000 per episode ($1.5 million per year)
Heidi Montag: $65,000 per episode ($1.25 million per year)
Spencer Pratt: $65,000 per episode ($1.25 million per year)
Audrina Patridge: $35,000 per episode ($665,000 annually)
Whitney Port: $20,000 per episode ($380,000 per season)
Brody Jenner: $10,000 per episode [...]

My favorite part of last night’s MTV Movie Awards: The making of a viral video for Tropic Thunder

The 21st season of The Real World will take place in…..Brooklyn, NY.

Brody Jenner, with his mysterious friend “Frankie”, is in talks with MTV to get his own spinoff from The Hills. I suppose it makes sense to have a guys version of the Hills but question: Do Jenner or “Frankie” even pretend to have jobs?

Lets all admit it: Making the Band is an awful, awful show featuring completely vapid individuals. But there’s no denying its power as a marketing force: Danity Kane’s new album is #1 on the Billboard Charts. via

Just desserts

If I had to nominate the most loathsome show on TV one of the first things that would come to mind would be MTV’s “My Super Sweet 16”. I literally can only watch it in 2 minute bursts because the disgust gets so overwhelming that I have to turn away. The kids are so over [...]

Good way to waste 15 minutes: some Real World where are they now?
