Friday Random Ten

Thanks to the recent purchase of a shiny new Nano Friday Random Ten is back in business. Because of the size limitations of going from 20 GB to 8 GB the music pool is considerably smaller and, if I do say so myself, improved in quality. I had to pick and choose what would make the cut to get on the new hottness so sadly Britney Spears' second album didn't make it, nor did the complete works of 98 Degrees. Only the finest people. Without further ado, I present the Friday Random Ten.

1. Dave Matthews Band What Would You Say -  I like Dave and company but I've never been obsessed with them like some people I know. I remember when they broke huge though in, I believe, my 8th grade year. Good times, helped get me out of my Soundgarden stage.

2. O.A.R. Tragedy in Waiting -  Never heard this song before but not bad. I'm a fairly huge O.A.R. fan (I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be embarrassed by that or not but its true).

3. The Fugees The Beast -  Not really a fan of this song. Certainly it doesn't belong in the same category as Killing Me Softly. Weren't the Fugees supposed to get back together? They released that one, kinda catchy song but that was it. The Score is a great album (this is part of my continuing effort to point out the obvious).

4. Jay Z Dirt Off Your Shoulder - Hova! Hova! The Black Album was pretty fantastic, way better then his most recent effort. The video to this song is kinda tight too. And yeah it did inspire people to fake brush dirt of their shoulders (me included) but still give the man props.

5. Citizen Cope Sideways - A stronger contender for my favorite song, definitely Top 5 (not sure I could really leave Smells Like Teen Spirit out of the #1 slot). If you don't know about Citizen Cope then I suggest you get your act together and go out and get his first two CDs, both of which are quality. Seen him in concert numerous times, the best performance of all being at a little club/bar in Arlington last fall. Guys legit.

6. The Beatles Eleanor Rigby - Not their best work but hey, its the Beatles, so still better then most.

7. John Mayer Waiting on the World to End -  Pretty catchy but not as good as the stuff on his debut CD.

8 Fort Minor Where'd You Go? -  Like this song a lot even though its fairly depressing. Maybe thats why.

9 Jimmy Buffett Trip Around the Sun - Who's got a better gig going then Jimmy Buffett? Nobody in my book. Went to one of his concerts two summers ago and had a blast.

10. Green Day Long View - A classic. Nothing more needs to be said.

Thanks for joining us, see you next Friday.
